Luka Doncic, star of the Los Angeles Lakers, spoke to the media ahead of the NBA All-Star Game and was asked a light-hearted but loaded football question: if he had to choose between Boca Juniors and River Plate, which club would he stay with?
The Slovenian didn’t hesitate.
With a broad smile, Doncic gave a response that could not have been more madridista: “Real Madrid.”
The answer sparked laughter in the room and quickly went viral among fans, once again highlighting his strong bond with Real Madrid — the club where he began his professional basketball career and with which he won multiple titles before making the leap to the NBA.
Even thousands of miles from the Bernabeu, Doncic’s heart still seems firmly set on white.
