When the Miami Dolphins posted on X, “60 minuti en el Bernabéu son molto longo,” they weren’t just celebrating a dramatic win — they were trolling Real Madrid-style.
The message, which means “60 minutes at the Bernabéu is a long time,” was a playful twist on one of the club’s most iconic phrases: “90 minutos en el Bernabéu son molto longos.” Juanito made those words legendary, immortalizing the idea that no lead is ever safe inside Real Madrid’s fortress.
By swapping 90 for 60, the Dolphins cleverly adapted the motto to their own sport — and to the battlefield they had just conquered.
Context adds even more flavor: Miami defeated the Washington Commanders 16-13 in overtime in the first regular-season NFL game ever played at the renovated Santiago Bernabéu. A stadium famous for historic comebacks has now added a new kind of drama to its résumé — this time, in American football.
