Journalist Pipi Estrada revealed on El Chiringuito de Jugones details of a conversation between José Ángel Sánchez, Real Madrid’s general manager, and Jude Bellingham. According to Estrada, the club executive asked the English midfielder to show greater responsibility and adjust his attitude in order to “avoid memes.”

This is how Pipi Estrada explained it ahead of the match against Monaco: “José Ángel Sánchez, Real Madrid’s general manager, had a talk with Bellingham. It was a friendly, relaxed conversation, but very educational and informative. He told the player that he needs to avoid memes, and that responsibility is key to that. ‘They're not good for you, they're not good for the club, and it's important that we change course.’ Jude agreed and said he would change. And I don't want to go into more detail. I think that, based on the sentiment and reading between the lines, we're adults now, the player knows perfectly well what he has to do. He needs to know where he stands. And he knows that from now on he has to make a significant change, primarily for his own good, and for Real Madrid as well.”

“Bellingham’s performance has dropped significantly. He's not the same player who arrived and won us all over. That decline in performance has resonated with the fans,” Pipi Estrada concluded.

As Estrada suggested, the criticism appeared to be linked to Bellingham’s alleged nightlife. Hours later, however, Real Madrid’s number 5 chose to respond with irony. After scoring against AS Monaco, he celebrated the goal in a playful manner, mimicking the act of having a few drinks.
