Dani Ceballos' future is set to become one of the key topics at Real Madrid once the Club World Cup concludes. A few weeks ago, journalist José Félix Díaz reported that the midfielder from Utrera preferred to wait and assess his role under new head coach Xabi Alonso before making any final decisions.
Just prior to Real Madrid's tournament debut against Al Hilal, Ceballos addressed the media, hinting at some uncertainty regarding his future at the Santiago Bernabéu: "I hope we can talk soon to find out what Xabi Alonso wants from me and, from there, decide what's best for everyone."
It’s no secret that if Ceballos were to leave Real Madrid this summer, his first choice would be a return to Real Betis, a move the Seville-based club has long pursued. Until now, financial limitations have stood in the way of an agreement, as Betis have struggled to meet Real Madrid’s demands.
However, that situation may be about to change. The Andalusian club is reportedly on the verge of securing two major outgoing transfers: Johnny Cardoso to Atlético Madrid for approximately €35 million and Jesús Rodríguez to Como for around €23 million.
These deals would inject nearly €60 million into Betis’ coffers, significantly strengthening their financial position. With this boost, Ceballos’ return, once considered a distant dream, is now becoming a realistic possibility for the Benito Villamarín faithful.
