Marc Cucurella raised concerns for Real Madrid in the closing stages of the match against Real Betis. The full-back was forced off in the 87th minute, with Álvaro Carreras replacing him, and limped towards the bench.
However, the injury scare proved to be nothing serious. Cucurella suffered cramps after both calves tightened up due to the accumulated physical effort.
The Real Madrid defender ended an extremely demanding match at La Cartuja exhausted, having worked tirelessly to deal with Antony's runs and Héctor Bellerín's constant overlapping movements. The intensity of the game ultimately took its toll, but there is no concern within the coaching staff.
Cucurella is therefore expected to be available for Real Madrid's Champions League opener against Inter Milan. José Mourinho will be able to count on his first-choice left-back for the crucial European clash following the 1-0 defeat to Real Betis.
