The Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) has appointed Sesma Espinosa to referee the Real Madrid vs Levante match. The official, who is making his debut season in the top flight, has emerged as one of the standout referees of the first half of the campaign.
The 30-year-old referee from La Rioja enjoyed an excellent season last year in the Second Division, earning promotion to La Liga. He made his First Division debut on August 16 in the Alavés vs Levante match, which ended 2-1. Since then, Sesma Espinosa has delivered several solid performances that have impressed the CTA leadership. Javier Iglesias Villanueva will oversee VAR duties for the encounter.
