Real Madrid have confirmed that Thibaut Courtois has suffered an injury to the adductor longus muscle in his right leg, following medical tests conducted today by the club’s medical staff. “His recovery will be monitored,” the official statement reads. The Belgian goalkeeper ended the match against Rayo Vallecano in Vallecas with a knock that later required examination.
After reviewing the test results, the club decided that Courtois would not join Belgium for their upcoming international fixtures against Kazakhstan and Liechtenstein, allowing him to continue his recovery and avoid any unnecessary risks.
Fortunately for Real Madrid, the latest updates on both Courtois and Fede Valverde brought relief, as neither injury is considered serious. Both players are expected to be available for Xabi Alonso’s side when they face Elche on November 13 — the team’s first match after the international break.
Following that game, Los Blancos will embark on a demanding stretch of away fixtures, traveling to Greece to play Olympiacos, then to Girona, and finally to San Mamés for a clash against Athletic Club — their sixth consecutive game away from home.
