Thibaut Courtois gave an interview to Cadena Cope's program El Partidazo, where he discussed the discomfort that kept him out of Belgium’s recent matches. “I'll be fine for the weekend. It was a minor injury, but I needed to rest, recover, and get treatment. I was a bit surprised by the commotion in my country, as if I were withdrawing from the national team, which isn't the case. Even if I'd had a match with Real Madrid, I wouldn't have played, because I couldn't,” he explained.
Courtois also addressed the criticism surrounding Real Madrid’s latest setbacks. “When we draw or lose a game, people talk about a crisis, and I think in the end there's always more noise outside than inside,” he said.
He later commented on the Villarreal vs Barcelona match in Miami and the comparison many fans drew with the NFL event at the Bernabéu. “Everyone knows it wasn't something that could be done this way... The NFL did it right. Nobody tells me what to do; I've always said what I think throughout my career. I have no problem discussing this with Tebas privately. I'd love to have a face-to-face debate with him.”
When asked about Vinicius and his outburst during the Clásico, Courtois closed the matter. “It's closed, accepted, he apologized and that's it. We've moved on and there's no problem,” he stated.
