Thibaut Courtois has returned to Real Madrid after his participation in the World Cup and his summer break, giving José Mourinho another important player back ahead of the new season.
The Belgian goalkeeper ended the tournament in the United States carrying a minor muscle injury sustained during the match against Spain, but he has now resumed training at Valdebebas.
While the rest of the squad traveled to Hungary for the club's second preseason friendly, Courtois remained in Madrid, where he trained individually as part of his recovery and fitness program.
The experienced goalkeeper worked alone under the supervision of the coaching staff and is expected to continue building his match fitness before rejoining the group. His focus is now on being ready for Real Madrid's next preseason fixture against Deportivo La Coruña.
