Just over a month ago, Chema Andrés joined the growing list of players who have left Real Madrid for opportunities in Germany. Since his arrival, the young midfielder has quickly adapted to life in the Bundesliga.

The Valencian was the hero for Stuttgart in their match against Borussia Mönchengladbach, scoring the decisive goal with a powerful header that left goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas with no chance. It wasn’t his first key contribution either—back in the German Super Cup against Bayern Munich, Andrés came on for just three minutes but still managed to provide an assist. On that occasion, however, Bayern lifted the Franz Beckenbauer Trophy with a 2-1 victory.

Against Mönchengladbach, the Real Madrid academy graduate—who left Valdebebas for €3 million, with Madrid keeping a 50% stake in his rights—showcased his maturity. He completed three of his four attempted passes, displayed composure in midfield, and contributed defensively by winning his only duel, blocking a shot, and making a clearance.

Such performances have not gone unnoticed, earning him a call-up to Spain’s U-21 team for their upcoming matches against Cyprus and Kosovo.

Chema Andrés hopes to follow the same path once traveled by Dani Carvajal, who spent a season at Bayer Leverkusen before returning to the Santiago Bernabéu, where he has since become a cornerstone of Real Madrid’s defense for more than a decade.
