Dani Ceballos was among the new faces in Real Madrid’s starting lineup against Kairat Almaty. Xabi Alonso has consistently emphasized that every player in the squad would have a role to play—some more frequently than others—but in Ceballos’s case, the coach is staying true to his word.

The Andalusian midfielder has featured in six of Real Madrid’s nine matches this season, including two in the Champions League and seven in La Liga. While he has only started three games, his performances have steadily improved, increasing his relevance within the team.

Against Kairat, he replaced Fede Valverde and delivered a convincing display. Ceballos completed 95% of his passes, totaling more than 100 throughout the match. His presence gave Arda Güler greater freedom in advanced positions, bringing him closer to the opponent’s box. Meanwhile, Ceballos anchored the midfield, providing constant support and movement to maintain the team’s fluid rhythm.

Carlo Ancelotti highlighted Ceballos’s value last season, and with a contract until 2027, he remains a player who continues to attract attention. Although speculation about his departure resurfaces every year, his strong start to the season has reinforced his importance in Madrid’s plans.
