Dani Ceballos has once again slipped out of the spotlight — but this time, not because of his football. The midfielder has been in excellent form lately, steadily gaining importance under Xabi Alonso. His rise was capped off in Real Madrid’s recent La Liga clash against Villarreal, where he started, performed brilliantly, and celebrated his 150th win as a Real Madrid player. Everything seemed to be going his way.
However, things took a turn last Wednesday. Ceballos was forced to leave a training match against Castilla after feeling discomfort in his left hamstring. Since then, he hasn’t trained with the group and has been ruled out of the upcoming match against Getafe.
The club’s medical team has diagnosed a minor hamstring strain. The goal is for Ceballos to recover in time for El Clásico, although his return could come earlier — possibly in the match against Juventus.
Adding to speculation, Ceballos shared a cryptic message on social media: “Better days are coming, stay positive,” followed by a photo of himself working out in his home gym. The post hinted that something wasn’t quite right.
Fortunately, doctors remain optimistic that it’s only a small setback — one that shouldn’t stop Ceballos from returning soon. Still, it comes at an unfortunate time, just as he was enjoying his best spell of the season.
