Dani Carvajal is back training with the Spanish national team after recovering from a serious injury. The Real Madrid full-back is determined to regain his best form ahead of what promises to be a demanding yet exciting season.

In an interview with Cadena Cope, the Leganés-born defender reflected on several issues surrounding Real Madrid. One of the main topics was the arrival of Xabi Alonso as head coach: “Each coach has his methodology. They belong to different generations. With Ancelotti, we had more freedom, we arrived a little later, although he would get angry. Xabi is more upright, with more discipline.”

Carvajal also commented on the possibility of Rodri joining Real Madrid in the future: “I’ve already told him. I hope he can sign for Real Madrid in the future; he’s a great player.”

His remarks come amid speculation about midfield reinforcements, with Dani Ceballos ultimately staying at Madrid after rejecting a move to Olympique de Marseille. Ceballos, whose contract runs until 2027, recently made his return against Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabéu to the applause of the fans.

The veteran full-back also addressed recent refereeing controversies, including Lamine Yamal’s penalty and Arda Güler’s disallowed goal: “I wouldn’t have called a penalty, but I wouldn’t have called the one on Balde at the Ciudad de Valencia either. It’s not about fanaticism. Güler’s was a handball, according to what the referees explained to us. We have nothing more to say.”
