The full-back was replaced at halftime of the encounter against Granada because of pain in his left soleus muscle. The Italian coach mentioned an overload following the game, but the true severity of the Spanish player's injury was not revealed until today.
His target is to recover for the semifinals of the Spanish Super Cup against Atlético Madrid on January 10.
