Real Madrid left Anfield without any points, and after the match, Carreras shared his thoughts: “The feeling is obviously different when you don’t win. We knew this was a tough stadium to come to and that it would be a difficult match. In the end, it was decided by a small detail. They scored from a set-piece — it stood, and that’s what gave them the win.”
He added: “We still have to analyze the game properly. Maybe we needed to be more aggressive, attack more into space, go forward with more intent.”
On facing Salah, he said: “I enjoy good duels. He has far more experience. Salah is a legend here at Liverpool. You learn a lot from battles like this — they help you keep working so you can stop players like him.”
Carreras also stressed the need to stay focused: “This result shouldn’t break the positive momentum we had. We have a tough game ahead in Vallecas, and our full focus is on winning there.”
