Former Real Madrid assistant coach David Bettoni spoke on El Chiringuito de Jugones and highlighted Zinedine Zidane’s exceptional strength in managing a squad. He described the French coach as one of the best he has ever worked with in terms of understanding and connecting with players. "Zidane understood the players very well; he was one of them, participating in drills and tasks. He enjoyed it, and it benefited them," Bettoni said.

He also discussed Zidane’s philosophy and leadership style, noting that he never relied on harshness to get results. "There's no need to crack the whip," he stressed, explaining that constant pressure can mentally drain players. Bettoni added that "smiles and happiness were two words Zizou used a lot."

To help players grow, he revealed that Zidane often created short personalized videos — three to four minutes each — for individual members of the squad. Around 75% of the footage focused on positive actions, designed to build confidence and reinforce each player’s strengths.
