Karim Benzema has expressed his desire to maintain a close relationship with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez after he retires from professional football. During an appearance on Mega’s ‘Los Amigos de Edu’ program, the Al Ittihad forward reflected on his deep connection with Perez.
Benzema, who departed Real Madrid last summer following a remarkable 14-year career at the club, fondly recalled the moment he signed with Real Madrid. He told his father he would stay as long as Perez remained in charge. He also shared details of an emotional conversation with Perez upon his decision to leave the club, noting that Perez "didn't understand it at all." Benzema explained, "I told him that the young players, Vinicius and Rodrygo, were ready."
Although uncertain about a future in coaching, Benzema is eager to remain involved in football and stay close to Perez, highlighting the admiration he holds for the president.
