Real Madrid never stopped thinking about Michael Olise. The club's interest in the French winger was reportedly very strong during the summer, and Los Blancos were prepared to make a move as the player was open to a change of scenery.

However, Bayern Munich's refusal to negotiate his departure forced Real Madrid to look elsewhere, with the club ultimately opting to sign Yan Diomandé instead.

Florentino Pérez, for his part, remains a big admirer of Olise and has reportedly maintained the idea of bringing the Frenchman to Real Madrid in the future. With Bayern now looking to secure the winger's long-term future, the German club is reportedly preparing a new contract that would include a significant salary increase and, crucially, a release clause.

According to the reports, Bayern want to set the clause at no less than €180 million, with the figure potentially rising close to €200 million.

Interestingly, Real Madrid reportedly considered making an offer close to €200 million for Olise during the summer. Therefore, although the potential clause would represent a huge financial commitment, it could also give the Spanish club a clear route to sign him in the future if Bayern ultimately agree to include such a provision in his new contract.

Olise remains one of the players most admired by Florentino Pérez, and a future release clause could keep the Real Madrid president's dream signing for the right wing within reach, albeit at an extraordinary price.
