The situation gained attention after a viral moment captured by El Chiringuito de Jugones, where a young fan asked Asencio why he wasn’t playing. The defender replied with a smile: “You’d have to ask Arbeloa that.”
His response quickly sparked speculation, prompting Asencio to clarify things on social media. He downplayed the situation and showed full respect for the coach and his teammates, stating that selection decisions are entirely up to the manager.
Despite the noise, the academy graduate made it clear there is no conflict from his side, reaffirming his professionalism and commitment.
