The Madrid-born defender is under contract with Real Madrid, who moved quickly to protect his future by extending his deal until 2029 in anticipation of interest from other clubs. As a result, any club hoping to sign Valdepeñas—Arsenal included—would be forced to negotiate directly with the Spanish giants.
