Speculation surrounding Rodrygo Goes’ future at Real Madrid is intensifying. Although the Brazilian forward and his camp remain silent on the matter, it’s increasingly clear that his role under incoming manager Xabi Alonso could be significantly reduced.

Alonso, who prefers a 3-5-2 formation with two central forwards, is expected to build his attack around Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior. That tactical shift leaves Rodrygo at risk of losing prominence — a reality not lost on the player or the club’s leadership.

While Florentino Pérez won’t push Rodrygo out, he also won’t stand in his way if the player wishes to leave. However, any transfer would demand a substantial fee, reportedly in the range of €80–90 million.

In recent days, several Premier League clubs have expressed interest, with Arsenal leading the charge. According to journalist Alex Crook (talkSport), the Gunners are “desperate” to sign the Brazilian. This aligns with reports from The Athletic, which states that Mikel Arteta is a long-time admirer of Rodrygo’s style and believes he could flourish in the Premier League.

Ultimately, the decision will rest with Rodrygo. But if he does choose to leave, a Premier League move — possibly to Arsenal — looks increasingly likely.
