Franco Mastantuono has quickly become one of the standout names in Real Madrid’s transfer plans. The talented River Plate midfielder will join Los Blancos in a deal worth €45 million, after club president Florentino Pérez acted swiftly to beat Paris Saint-Germain to the signing.

The move, strongly supported by incoming coach Xabi Alonso, was fast-tracked due to the growing interest from top European clubs. However, owing to the excellent relationship between Real Madrid and River Plate, the 17-year-old will remain in Argentina until August, when he is expected to arrive in Madrid.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni, who led the Albiceleste to victory in the Qatar World Cup, addressed the youngster's future. “If it really happens, it’s a huge deal. Going to Real Madrid is a big thing. We’re talking about the best club in the world,” said Scaloni.

He went on to emphasize the importance of supporting Mastantuono during this transition: “It’s a huge step for him, and he’s only 17. What matters is that he keeps that desire, that mindset, that hunger to learn. If he does, he’ll do well. But we must remember he’s still just a 17-year-old boy, and everyone around him needs to help guide him.”

Mastantuono’s move marks another bold investment in youth for Real Madrid, reinforcing their long-term project with one of South America’s most promising stars.
