Real Madrid’s attempt to overturn Federico Valverde’s suspension has been rejected by the Appeal Committee, according to Guillermo Rai of The Athletic.
As a result, the Uruguayan midfielder will miss Real Madrid’s next LaLiga match against Mallorca following the international break.
Valverde was sent off last weekend during the clash with Atletico Madrid after committing a strong foul on Alex Baena, which led to a direct red card.
Despite the setback, the midfielder will be eligible to return for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals against Bayern Munich. He will also be available again for the subsequent LaLiga fixture against Girona.
