Real Madrid have confirmed that Antonio Rüdiger has undergone successful surgery to treat a partial tear in the external meniscus of his left knee. The German defender was forced to exit the Copa del Rey final in the 111th minute due to the injury.

Rüdiger has reportedly been dealing with discomfort in both knees, attributed to early-onset osteoarthritis. He is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks, which likely rules him out for the remainder of the season. The club's objective is to have him fully fit for the crucial stages of the FIFA Club World Cup this summer, where Real Madrid begin their campaign against Al-Hilal on June 18.
