Antonio Blanco, a Deportivo Alavés midfielder developed at Real Madrid’s youth academy, has spoken to Estadio Deportivo about the possibility of one day returning to the Santiago Bernabéu.

“Honestly, I’ve never really thought about it,” Blanco admitted. “It’s been several years now, and going back hasn’t crossed my mind. I was there, I had my chance, and I think I did well. Now I’m at a different stage of my career, one where I feel very comfortable and happy. You never know what the future holds, but right now my focus is on performing well every weekend, and we’ll see what happens down the line.”

The midfielder also reflected on how difficult it is for academy players to establish themselves in Real Madrid’s first team. “We always know there are talented players,” he explained. “Valdepeñas got his opportunity the other day, but circumstances also have to align. The full-backs were injured. As I always say, the academy is full of quality. There’s also Yusi, for example, a left-back with a lot of potential. It’s very important for the club that young, promising players continue to emerge.”

Looking ahead to his own future, Blanco was clear. “For now, everything stays the same. I have this season and one more left on my contract. I’m very happy here and I hope to stay for many more years. I feel very loved by the club, the fans, and my teammates. I feel valued.”
