Carlo Ancelotti returned to Real Madrid City on an emotional visit and spoke to Realmadrid TV about what brought him back to Valdebebas.

The most decorated manager in the club's history, now in charge of the Brazilian national team, explained that he had a dual reason for returning.

"I'm here in two capacities, as the Seleção's coach and also privately, to say hello and return to a place where I spent a lot of time, and to meet with the Brazilian players who are recovering. It's been a lovely morning," he said, referring to Endrick, Rodrygo and Militão.

The Italian also spoke about his relationship with José Mourinho, the current Real Madrid manager.

"It's been very good for a long time. We exchange ideas, messages... I'm happy he's here," Ancelotti said. "He can take advantage of this great club, which he knows very well. He's going to do very well. José is a great manager, and I'm convinced he's going to do a very good job here."

Asked about Real Madrid's start to the season and the beginning of the Mourinho era, Ancelotti was optimistic.

"It started very well. They had difficulties in the first match, but little by little the team played better, with a great game against Real Sociedad," he said. "Now the important matches begin: La Liga, Betis, the Champions League... I think the team is well prepared, with a new signing who will contribute a lot. It's going to be a great season for Real Madrid."

Ancelotti also made no attempt to hide his affection for the club when asked what Real Madrid means to him.

"Real Madrid is home, it's family, it's everything. I've had a great time here and I have fantastic memories," he confessed. "I've gone from being a coach to a Real Madrid fan, one of the first. Whenever Madrid plays, I'm glued to the TV."
