Carlo Ancelotti faced the media after Real Madrid's 4th Clásico defeat of the season, a loss that effectively ended their hopes of winning La Liga. The Italian coach acknowledged his team’s attacking effort but pointed to major defensive absences as a key factor in the outcome.
"They did well," Ancelotti said. "Every chance we had was clear because we attacked well behind them. We scored three and had two goals ruled offside. In attack, we had clear ideas — but defensively, we weren’t good."
The coach stressed the importance of context: "We mustn’t forget we were missing five defenders. That matters, and we can’t overlook it."
Despite showing flashes of attacking brilliance, Madrid’s defensive vulnerabilities ultimately cost them in a high-stakes Clásico — and potentially the title.
