Real Madrid striker Álvaro Rodríguez is preparing for the next step in his career, with a return to Getafe now officially off the table. After spending the 2024-25 season on loan at the Madrid-based club, the 20-year-old forward is currently assessing new opportunities, with a final decision expected in the coming weeks.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Rodríguez has ruled out a second spell under José Bordalás, choosing instead to explore fresh environments where he can continue his development with more regular minutes.

Several clubs have expressed strong interest in signing the Spanish-Uruguayan talent. Newly promoted Levante and Elche are reportedly among the most serious contenders, both eager to reinforce their attacking lines ahead of their return to La Liga. Meanwhile, Rayo Vallecano remain in the race, particularly if Raúl de Tomás exits this summer. Alavés are also monitoring the situation.

A move abroad is not out of the question, either. Sources close to the player suggest that Rodríguez is open to joining a club outside of Spain if the project aligns with his development goals.

Rodríguez featured in 26 matches for Getafe last season, finding the net three times despite missing the start of the campaign due to a preseason injury suffered while with Real Madrid. Still remembered for his memorable debut goal, a late equalizer for Real Madrid against Atlético in the 2022–23 season at the Bernabéu, the young striker now seeks a new platform where he can play consistently and continue rising.

With preseason preparations underway across Europe, Rodríguez aims to finalize his next move soon to ensure a full integration ahead of the new campaign.
