Real Madrid has officially confirmed that Álvaro Arbeloa will take charge of Real Madrid Castilla starting next season. The move, long anticipated, became reality just a day after Raúl González’s departure from the role after six seasons leading the reserve side.

Arbeloa’s promotion comes at a pivotal time, coinciding with a new era under Xabi Alonso, now head coach of the first team. The two former teammates, who share a strong friendship and a deep understanding of the club’s values, are set to work in close alignment as part of Real Madrid’s long-term project.

Arbeloa, who has previously coached the club's U19 side with success, celebrated the news with a heartfelt message on social media. Alongside photos with Xabi Alonso from the latter’s presentation as first-team coach, he wrote: "Very happy for this new era. History that you and I made; history that we're going to make. Let’s go for it, Xabi Alonso. Hala Madrid!”

His appointment reflects the club's ongoing commitment to promoting leadership from within and fostering continuity between the academy and the first team.
