Xabi Alonso is reportedly considering handing Kylian Mbappé the responsibility for all penalty kicks in the 2025-26 season, according to Diario AS.
The Real Madrid coach prefers to designate a single, consistent penalty taker rather than rotate the duty among several players.
Last season, Mbappé converted seven of his ten attempts from the spot, while Vinícius Jr scored seven of his nine. Despite the slightly lower success rate, Alonso views the French forward as the ideal choice, believing this role could also boost his chances in the race for the Golden Boot.
Mbappé ended last season with 44 goals in all competitions, leading the La Liga scoring charts and solidifying his status as one of the most decisive players in the squad.
