Carlos Alcaraz has welcomed the news that Rafa Nadal will join Real Madrid's Board of Directors, describing the appointment as "crazy" after securing his place in the last 16 of the Paris Masters 1000 with a victory over Alex Michelsen.
The Spanish tennis star expressed his happiness for Nadal, highlighting his passion for football and his lifelong support for Real Madrid.
"It seems crazy to me, it's insane, really. When I saw it, I was happy, I'm so happy for him. He's someone who lives and breathes football, he's a huge football fan, a huge Real Madrid fan," Alcaraz said in Paris.
He also praised Florentino Pérez's decision to bring Nadal onto the club's Board and revealed that he hopes to see him at the Santiago Bernabéu.
"I think the fact that Florentino (Pérez) has included him in the board is good, it's incredible, I wish Rafa all the best, which is what he deserves and I hope to see him when I go to see Real Madrid," added the Murcia-born player, who is also a Madridista.
