David Alaba is determined to continue at Real Madrid, dismissing any notions of a summer departure. The Austrian defender, whose contract runs until June 2026, has made it clear that his sole focus remains on fulfilling his commitment to Los Blancos and proving his worth to incoming coach Xabi Alonso.

Despite enduring a difficult season marred by injuries, Alaba—who turns 33 on June 24—is not ready to give up. He is currently recovering from a torn internal meniscus in his left knee, an injury sustained in late April. Surgery was performed on April 30, and his goal is to be fit in time for the Club World Cup in the United States.

The former Bayern Munich star has struggled with fitness over the last two seasons, but his motivation remains intact: he wants to finish his contract at Madrid and leave on a high note. While the player is clear on his intentions, Real Madrid’s management is reportedly open to listening to offers, given his high salary—€22.5 million gross annually, making him the club’s second-highest earner behind Mbappé.

Despite the emergence of Raúl Asencio and the arrival of Dean Huijsen, and with Antonio Rüdiger also recovering from knee surgery, Alaba believes he still has a role to play. In his mind, next season is a new beginning, and he's ready to fight for his place.
