Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the details of Jude Bellingham's transfer to Real Madrid, so we can finally see where the English teenager ranks among Los Blancos' all-time most costly signings.
Bellingham joins Real Madrid for an initial fee of 103 million euros, with the possibility of an additional 30 million in add-ons.
1. Eden Hazard: At 115 million euros, the Belgian forward is still Real Madrid's most expensive signing. Following an injury-plagued spell, he is departing four years after joining from Chelsea in 2019.
2. Jude Bellingham: The England midfielder takes over at number two after arriving from Borussia Dortmund for an initial fee of 103 million euros.
3. Gareth Bale: After becoming the club's first 100-million-euro player in 2013, moving from Tottenham Hotspur for that money, the Welshman enjoyed a career full of highs and lows. Ideally, fans will remember the bright points of his time in Madrid, which featured 19 titles and some outstanding performances.
4. Cristiano Ronaldo: Ronaldo is Madrid's fourth-most expensive signing, costing 96 million euros (from Manchester United in 2009). He stayed at the club for nine years and became one of the all-time greats.
5. Aurelien Tchouameni: Last season, Real Madrid paid 80 million euros for the young French international, who will soon be lined up alongside Bellingham in a very expensive midfield.
6. Zinedine Zidane: Another Frenchman, the famous Zizou, arrived from Juventus in 2001 for 76 million euros. Despite the exorbitant fee for the time, this was obviously a big success.
7. James Rodriguez: The Colombian had a mixed spell. His transfer cost 75 million from Monaco in 2014.
8. Kaka: Kaka and Ronaldo arrived in the same window during the Galactico summer of 2009. The Brazilian cost 67 million euros, arriving from Milan.
9. Luis Figo: One of the most controversial transfers in history. In the year 2000, Figo was signed from Barcelona for a fee of 62 million euros.
10. Luka Jovic: He was signed from Eintracht Frankfurt for 60 million euros in 2019. He will undoubtedly be remembered as a failure, and after a loan spell with his former club in 2021, he joined Fiorentina on a permanent move in 2022.
