When Real Madrid players return for pre-season training?

28 Jun 2021

Real Madrid players are expected to report back at Valdebebas on July 7.

However, not everyone will be available at that time as Carlo Ancelotti wants to give a 20-25 days rest to players involved in the European Championship and Copa America.

Eder Militao, Casemiro and Vinicius (all Brazil) and Federico Valverde (Uruguay) are representing their countries at Copa America. The tournament runs until July 10.

Luka Modric (Croatia), Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois (both Belgium), Raphael Varane, Karim Benzema (both France) and Toni Kroos (Germany) are still at the Euros. The final will be played on July 11.

Return dates of these players will depend on their nations’ progress in their respective competition.

Takefusa Kubo has been called up for the Olympics and is expected to miss the pre-season.

Marco Asensio, Dani Ceballos, Brahim Diaz, Jesus Vallejo and Borja Mayoral are named in Spain’s preliminary Olympic squad and could be absent for pre-season as well, depending on whether they make the cut or not.

David Alaba and Gareth Bale are already eliminated from the Euros so they are expected to report back in mid-July.
