Vinicius, Rodrygo, Valverde and Camavinga: Real Madrid of future is already here

17 Sep 2021

Real Madrid takes time betting on young players and now beginning to reap the rewards. The first game of the season in the Champions League, a hard-fought victory against Inter, showed that the future of Real Madrid is already present and several players ask Carlo Ancelotti to step into the starting lineup. Militao, Fede Valverde and Vinicius are already a reality, but also Rodrygo and Camavinga showed in Milan that they do not want to be left behind.

The renovation of Real Madrid will not take long to take place and the veterans will have to give way to the younger ones. Against Inter Milan, Ancelotti started with Militao (23), Fede Valverde (23) and Vinicius (21), and ended the match with Camavinga (18) and Rodrygo (20), who were essential to achieve the victory.

The play of the goal reflected what the white team can be in the future. Fede Valverde put it to Eduardo Camavinga in the area, and the Frenchman saw Rodrygo at the first touch so that he finished off in the small area. Three touches by three players aged 23, 18 and 20 to excite the Madrid fans.

Carlo Ancelotti is mixing youth with seniority, and Casemiro, Carvajal, Alaba, Modric and Benzema are combining in the team with the youngest, who are overtaking Asensio and Isco. The Italian coach has had almost neither of them at this start of the season, although the campaign is long.

The one who also did not have minutes in Milan was Eden Hazard. The Belgian is starting the season calmly and the emergence of Vinicius  has pushed Ancelotti to displace him from his usual position on the left against Celta, and he did not get to play in the first game of the Champions League in the group stage.

After the game, Rodrygo was praised by Ancelotti: “It is not important how many minutes he is going to play but how he is going to play. He helped Carvajal a lot and then against the rival goal he is very cold and scores goals”. He also referred to the future of Camavinga, reminding him that he has to work more defensively: “He has a lot of quality, but he has to improve the defensive aspect”.

Young people in Madrid are asking for passage and Ancelotti is not blocking their way. Militao, Valverde, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Camavinga and Miguel Gutiérrez have the confidence of the Italian and will have minutes throughout the season. Now it will only be necessary to see who takes advantage of the opportunity and who wins a position at Real Madrid.
