Vinicius finally makes Real Madrid debut

30 Sep 2018

Vinicius Jr. finally made his first official appearance in a Real Madrid shirt with coach Julen Lopetegui deciding to introduce the Brazilian into the fray in the 88th minute replacing Benzema.

The Brazilian featured in a number of the clubs pre-season games during the US tour and was one of the major attractions in this season’s Trofeo Bernabeu where Madrid saw off AC Milan 3-1.

The Basque coach felt playing time with Real Madrid Castilla in Segunda B would be good grounding for the teenager and the former Flamengo player has now been called up for two squads (the midweek trip to Seville and tonight’s derby).

The Brazilian had little time to impose himself on the action as Real Madrid and Atletico played out a 0-0 draw at the Bernabeu.
