After securing the LaLiga Santander title with one match to spare, Zinedine Zidane was able to relax and enjoy the final domestic fixture of the calendar against Leganes, but with attention now turning to Real Madrid‘s Champions League tie with Manchester City, Raphael Varane has made clear that anything is possible.
After conceding two late goals in the first leg prior to COVID-19 emerging in Europe, Los Merengues know they have to score at least two goals at the Etihad Stadium to have a chance of progression to the quarter-final.
“This is Real Madrid and anything is possible, the hope is always there even if the situation is difficult,” Varane explained in an interview with Le Parisien.
“When you wear this shirt, you have a responsibility, we know that a difficult game awaits us but we will approach it with an incredible hunger.
“It’s a debt we owe to our fans, we can’t predict the result but we will fight to the end.”
