Raphael Varane’s representatives are hoping to meet with Manchester United this week in the hope of finalizing his transfer to the Premier League side.
The central defender, whose contract at Real Madrid expires in 12 months’ time, has knocked back a contract extension of two years with the option of one more, meaning he could be on his way out.
According to English newspaper the Mirror, Varane isn’t happy that Real Madrid have chosen to negotiate the contract renewals of Luka Modric, Lucas Vazquez and Sergio Ramos before speaking to him.
England is a destination that interests him and United is his preferred destination.
According to reports, Real Madrid will want around 60 million euros for Varane as they look to finance a big-money move for either Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland.
Los Blancos are confident they can move forward without Varane or Ramos after the arrival of David Alaba and the presence of Eder Militao, Nacho Fernandez and Jesus Vallejo in the squad.
Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Varane, but according to the Mirror his preferred move would be to England.
