Sergio Ramos has received big praise from former Real Madrid man Jorge Valdano.
The personality and leadership qualities of the Real captain were among the subjects for the Argentine as he wrote about the latest issues in the game in his weekly column.
“Sergio Ramos enters the dressing room as if Real Madrid belonged to him and onto the field as if he invented football,” Valdano said in El Pais.
“When the other players hide, he challenges the world with a Panenka penalty.”
Valdano also gave his thoughts on the style v substance debate when it comes to footballing philosophies, using Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho to illustrate his point.
“Mourinho needs to win to be right and prove himself but Guardiola is different,” he added.
“He needs to win and play very well when he does so. It is a question of expectations.”
