Tuttosport: Juventus to make January bid for Isco

Given the new UEFA rule change this season that now permits a player to represent two different competing clubs during different phases of the Champions League, it’s anticipated that this may encourage clubs involved in the final stages of European competitions to be more active in the winter window.

It’s clear that Isco doesn’t fit into new Real Madrid coach Santi Solari’s tactical plans with the player only seeing first team action under the Argentine boss in the 0-3 Champions League defeat to CSKA and the second leg Copa del Rey win at the Bernabeu against lowly UD Melilla before the trip to participate in the Club World Cup.

Given the lack of playing time under Solari the player from the Costa del Sol has only scored one goal less (four) than at the same stage last season.

Despite Juve having previously expressed interest in Isco’s services, the UEFA rule change and current situation involving the player at the Bernabeu club, the Italian outlet hint that the 2019 winter window may be the time when the move finally materializes. The Turin based club will however have to fend off rival suitors with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City having also expressed an interest in bringing Isco to the north of England.
