The second episode of the documentary about the career and life of Neymar Jr.has raised some questions about the Brazilian’s future.
When he was 13 years old, Neymar travelled to the Spanish capital to undergo a trial with Real Madrid. He even formed a part of the youth team’s plans for the 2005/06 campaign, which would have seen him play with Dani Carvajal andPablo Sarabia, amongst others.
The documentary offers new images of Neymar in Madrid. He was photographed at Valdebebas, both inside and outside of the Santiago Bernabeu, and in the dressing room, seated where four of the Brazilians would sit at the time: Julio Baptista, Ronaldo Nazario, Robinho and Cicinho.
Fast forward to present day and Real Madrid are once again looking at the forward, with his future at Paris Saint-Germain looking increasingly uncertain.
A long-term contract and an apartment
Neymar Sr. put pressure on Santos, where his son was playing, as he wanted special treatment for Neymar Jr. and his family who, at the time, were not living in comfort. Between the president of the Brazilian side and Zito, his discoverer, they ended up holding onto the player and convincing his father.
At first, they offered the 13-year-old a long-term contract, something that was initially declined. Neymar Jr. ended up signing his first contract at 13, with Santos compensating the family financially as they were given an apartment near their training ground.
