The possible Casemiro penalty that wasn’t given to Real Madrid

11 Jan 2021

Real Madrid’s draw away to Osasuna on Saturday produced a lot of controversy.

The issues started with the chaos of the team’s trip to Pamplona and the complications brought by Storm Filomena, but more problems arose on the pitch as well.

The last of them came as Casemiro went down in the area at the end of the game, calling for a penalty. But, no replays were shown on television and the Brazilian claimed that he was pulled back by Oier, with both players ending up in a heated, and almost physical, argument.

It was a pull that VAR didn’t highlight, which only serves as further fuel for Florentino Perez‘s anger with LaLiga and the apparent unfair treatment that Real Madrid are victims of.
