It has been 72 years since Real Madrid experienced one of the most difficult seasons in their history, as the last matchday of the season arrived and Los Blancos seemed as though they may get relegated from LaLiga Santander for the first time in their history.
In that season, the 1947/48 campaign, Real Madrid played against Real Oviedo on the last and decisive matchday.
Luckily for them, they ended up winning 2-0 with a brace from Pruden as they secured their place in the Spanish top flight.
The Asturians were not playing for anything and didn’t play well at Real Madrid‘s home.
That win left Los Blancos in fourth place with only 21 points, 39 goals scored and 56 conceded.
Sporting Gijon and Real Sociedad ended up being the two clubs that were relegated to the Segunda Division.
