Several countries in South America and other competitions such as the NBA have implemented the so-called “Bubble Method” to continue the competitions despite the COVID outbreaks that are hitting the different regions of the American continent.
This simply consists of carrying out a PCR test on the entire squad, confirming the result of the test, and concentrating the players for a long time, without contact with the outside world, until a series of games are played. Then, they will rest for a few days with their families and they will be tested again to re-enter the bubble.
This has happened, on the European football scene, in the Champions League competition in Lisbon but it has been for a short period of time. It is understood that players cannot stay focused forever for the entire season, but can stay focused for long periods of time.
The bubble method implies a sacrifice for the players that was already considered in the months of March and April, but that was discarded since the level of contagion dropped considerably in Europe after confinement. Today, and after being applied in various sectors of the world, it is back on the table.
