Real Madrid‘s director of institutional relations, and the Real Madrid Graduate School – Universidad Europea director general, Emilio Butragueño, was tasked with marking the start of the 2019/20 academic year at an event held at the Santiago Bernabéu presidential box. The ceremony was also attended by the dean of the Universidad Europea, Elena Gazapo; and former player and Real Madrid ambassador, Santiago Solari.
The school’s 14th cohort features students of over 50 nationalities, who are studying 18 Master’s related to sport and Real Madrid‘s daily activities. In his welcome address, Butragueño commented: “Since the beginning of this marvelous adventure, over 11,500 students have graduated with us, which shows that the effort has been worth it. We’re very proud of the school’s success and of our academic project. One of the main objectives when the school was opened was for it to have an international feel and a clear example of this is the fact that 73% of this cohort comes from over 50 countries”.
