On 7 January 2007, Marcelo made his Real Madrid debut at Riazor. Aged just 18, the Brazilian was making the first appearance of a glittering career for the Whites, in which he has etched his name into the club’s history books. A decade on, Marcelo is the team’s vice-captain and has clocked up 382 appearances, a tally which makes him Real Madrid’s third-highest foreign appearance maker, behind Roberto Carlos and Di Stéfano.
The list of honours that Marcelo has claimed during this 10-year period is extremely impressive. To date he has lifted the following 13 pieces of silverware: two Champions League titles, two Club World Cup, two UEFA Super Cup crowns, three LaLiga titles, two Copa del Rey crowns and two Spanish Super Cups. Furthermore, his attacking abilities from his left wing-back berth have seen him notch a total of 26 goals.
