Real Madrid were victorious in Saturday’s Bernabeu Trophy clash with AC Milan and Sergio Ramos showed Paolo Maldini incredible respect as the veteran presented the silverware at full-time.
Maldini is widely remembered for his iconic career with the Rossoneri which spanned the length of two decades, and he’s an example for all central defenders to follow.
Ramos has enjoyed a phenomenal career in his own right, yet the Spanish captain was quick to make clear his reverence for the Italian.
As Maldini prepared to hand over the Bernabeu Trophy, the Spanish international gestured a tipping of the cap in the Italian’s direction.
Relations between the pair are known to be incredibly cordial, with Maldini having publicly declared Ramos as his heir in the world of football back in 2009.
