Ronaldo Nazario: “No other team can treat Cristiano better than Real Madrid”

29 Jun 2017

Former Brazil international Ronaldo Nazario, currently a global ambassador for Real Madrid, has claimed that Los Blancos are the only club that can provide Cristiano Ronaldo with the security he needs to continue thriving in the world of football.

Focusing on recent rumours around the Portuguese forward’s contemplation of a move away from Madrid, Ronaldo mentioned that the club offer the proper environment for football stars like Cristiano.

“I’m almost certain that Cristiano will stay in Madrid, because a player who scores 50 goals a year provides the club with a security that can’t be given up,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“[The great players] always decide [their future], but even though I don’t know the reasons for his discomfort, I don’t think there is a team that can treat Cristiano better than Real Madrid.”

The former Merengues striker also went on to reveal that the current tactician of the club, Zinedine Zidane, was studying to become a coach during his playing years.

“[Zidane] had discipline and he studied football during his career as a player,” he noted.

“This helped him to manage a difficult group and a demanding crowd like the one in Madrid.

“If there’s one person in the world who deserves to have won two consecutive Champions Leagues, that’s Zidane.”

Finally, Nazario gave his take on the Real Madrid organisation, explaining that he is very happy with the role that club president Florentino Perez offered him.

“Florentino just renewed my contract as an ambassador for Real and I am very comfortable here,” he added.

“There is no need to say what this team represents, but I also feel ready for a distinct experience.”
