The name of Rodrygo Goes stands out as the only real surprise in Real Madrid‘s Champions League squad list which was announced on Wednesday.
All of Los Blancos’ summer signings have been included, as has Rodrygo‘s compatriot Vinicius Jr.
Alphonse Areola was the latest arrival and the Frenchman will wear the No.1 shirt, leaving Thibaut Courtois with the No.13.
Real Madrid‘s full squad list for the 2019/20 Champions League campaign is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Alphonse Areola and Thibaut Courtois.
Defenders: Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, Nacho, Marcelo, Alvaro Odriozola and Farland Mendy.
Midfielders: Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Casemiro, Fede Valverde, James Rodriguez, Brahim Diaz and Isco.
Forwards: Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard, Karim Benzema, Lucas Vazquez, Luka Jovic, Mariano Diaz, Vinicius and Rodrygo Goes.
A host of youngster from Real Madrid Castilla have been listed in the ‘B’ squad, who can be added to the main list if a request is made to UEFA prior to midnight the day before a Champions League match.
