Real Madrid‘s position on new signings was clear after their 3-2 victory against Real Betis on Saturday night.
The club have maintained since April that there will be no money spent on new players due to the financial situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
“There won’t be signings in the week that remains of the transfer window,” said Zinedine Zidane after his side’s victory at the Estadio Benito Villamarin.
Zidane will be relying on his existing squad of players for the upcoming campaign, as well as some who have returned from loan spells such as Martin Odegaard, who has started Real Madrid‘s first two league matches.
The club don’t want to risk putting themselves into financial danger and Zidane has planned his season accordingly.
Possible moves for players such as Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland and Eduardo Camavinga have all been put on hold until next summer.
Zidane has used 18 players in the opening two league matches, which shows there is depth in the squad he has at his disposal.
